ST. CECILIA SCHOOL & ACADEMY

Two St Cecilia School and Academy graduates, Class of 2006, have been offered college scholarships. Alex Carillo and Luis Llanos.

Alex, a senior at St John Vianney High School, has accepted a scholarship to attend Syracuse University School of Engineering ($30,000 per year for a total of $120,000).

Luis, a senior at St Louis University High School, has been offered scholarships to Notre Dame

($43, 000 per year for a total of $123,000) AND Washington University in St Louis ($54,000 per year for a total of $216,000).

Both Alex and Luis, show the success of a Nativity/Miguel school model. The program is designed for an extended school year and a longer school day to better prepare students for college prep high schools.

St. Cecilia School is K-5 and the Academy is an intense 6th, 7th, 8th grade program. The Nativity/Miguel program follows students through high school. It has a proven success record with an 93% high school graduation rate.

St. Cecilia works with an underserved and economically disadvantaged population in the City of St. Louis. 90% of the students are on the free or reduced lunch program
