ST. CECILIA SCHOOL & ACADEMY
Two St
Cecilia School and Academy graduates, Class of 2006, have been
offered college scholarships.
Alex Carillo and Luis Llanos.
Alex, a senior at St
John Vianney High School, has accepted a scholarship to attend
Syracuse University School of Engineering ($30,000 per year for
a total of $120,000).
Luis, a senior at St Louis
University High School, has been offered scholarships to Notre
Dame
($43, 000 per year for a total of
$123,000) AND Washington University in St Louis ($54,000 per
year for a total of $216,000).
Both Alex and Luis, show the
success of a Nativity/Miguel school model. The program is
designed for an extended school year and a longer school day to
better prepare students for college prep high schools.
St. Cecilia School is K-5 and the
Academy is an intense 6th, 7th, 8th grade program. The
Nativity/Miguel program follows students through high school. It
has a proven success record with an 93% high school graduation
rate.
St. Cecilia works with an underserved and economically
disadvantaged population in the City of St. Louis. 90% of the
students are on the free or reduced lunch program
