Dear Friend:
St. Cecilia will be hosting its annual Dinner and Auction on Saturday
June 19, 2010. I am
sure you are aware that a wide variety of items are needed to
insure that the evening is a success. The auction items are
provided through the generous efforts of parishioners, school
parents, volunteers and other friends.
We write to you at this time, in hopes that
you may be willing to help with a donation of merchandise,
certificates for your services, or perhaps a monetary donation
and/or the placing of an ad in our Auction booklet.
For your convenience, a Donation Form and advertising
contract are enclosed.
If you wish to make a donation, please mail it to 5418
Louisiana, St. Louis, MO 63111 or call Heather at the rectory to
arrange to have your donation picked up.
If you would like an acknowledgement of your donation for
tax purposes, please be sure to complete the Donation Form and
return it with your donation. When returning the donation form,
it is very important that you include the value of the donated
items. In order to
make sure that you are given proper acknowledgement in our
Auction Booklet, please be sure that your donated items arrive
at the rectory no later than May 28, 2010.
St. Cecilia has been serving the Carondelet
community for over 100 years and the survival of the parish and
school is heavily dependent on the success of our fund-raising
activities.
Currently, St. Cecilia Parish has 750 families and 191 school
children. Our parish
population is culturally diverse and we offer appropriate
support and programs.
We have a full time Hispanic Ministry that aids our
community in a wide variety of areas, including a catechetical
program which now educates over 100 Spanish speaking families
and their children who do not attend Catholic school.
This program goes far beyond simply teaching religion.
The program includes lessons which help many of these families
adjust to life in America.
Our parish school is now over 80% Latin American
children. The
financial situation of many of our families makes fundraising a
necessity.
We work very hard and Fundraisers are many.
The Auction is our biggest.
Please consider helping us to insure many years of
continued existence in the community.
Thank you in advance for any assistance and support you
may be able to provide.
Sincerely,
Heather Sieve
St. Cecilia Auction Committee
